How we handle your information.

Last updated: May 2026. We do not sell leads. Ever. This policy explains everything else.

What we collect

When you use the OneSurance chat or quote forms we collect: your name, email, phone number, zip code, date of birth, the line of insurance you're asking about, and the chat transcript. For SR-22 specifically we may also ask for your state-issued driver's license number to file the form with your state DMV — that's collected through a secure form, not in chat, and stored encrypted.

We do not collect Social Security numbers in chat or via this website. Where SSNs are required (life-insurance underwriting, for example), they're collected directly by the carrier on a separate, secure form.

How we use it

Three purposes, all narrow:

  • To quote, bind, and service insurance policies you ask us about.
  • To follow up by SMS or email if you start a quote and don't finish — capped at 3 messages over 72 hours, with one-click opt-out (reply STOP for SMS, "unsubscribe" link for email).
  • To improve our chatbot and quote flow with anonymized usage data.

What we don't do

  • We do not sell leads. Not to other brokers, not to lead aggregators, not to anyone.
  • We do not share your information with marketing platforms outside the carriers we shop on your behalf.
  • We do not run ad-tracking pixels (Facebook, TikTok, etc.) without your explicit opt-in.

Who sees your data inside OneSurance

Licensed agents who are working on your quote or policy. Our internal CRM (AgencyZoom) and our chatbot infrastructure provider (Anthropic, who powers the AI). That's it.

Carriers (Progressive, Dairyland, etc.) only see the information needed to underwrite the specific policy you're applying for, and only after you affirmatively choose to apply with that carrier.

How long we keep it

Active customers: as long as you're a customer, plus the 7 years required by Wisconsin insurance regulations.

Leads who didn't convert: 180 days, then auto-deleted. You can request deletion sooner — see below.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Request a copy of all data we hold on you.
  • Request correction of anything inaccurate.
  • Request deletion (subject to records we're required by law to keep).
  • Opt out of marketing communications via reply-STOP (SMS) or unsubscribe link (email).
  • Request a copy of any chatbot transcript you participated in.

Email requests to privacy@onesurance.com. We respond within 7 business days.

Security

All traffic to onesurance.com is over TLS 1.2+. Personal information is encrypted at rest. Driver's license numbers and other sensitive identifiers are stored using column-level encryption. We do not store payment information; carriers handle that directly.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies: a session cookie for keeping you signed into the site, and a theme cookie to remember whether you prefer light or dark mode. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Changes

If we update this policy materially, we'll notify active customers by email and post the change date at the top of this page. Material changes always include a 30-day notice period before they take effect.
